Looking for something no more than an hour and a half from Temple for this coming weekend...March 11-13...

While it may push the hour and a half limit, try Fredricksburg.

Other than the Austin area or College Station, there isn't much witin 1.5 hours. A couple of years ago we did a long weekend in Gruene which is a little over 1.5 hours (stayed at the Gruene River Inn).

If you had said kids I was goingto recommend Glenrose.

Fort Worth is a little over an hour and a half but we've always found downtown Fort Worth to be nice

Every Effin hotel in Austin is booked for the weekend! That's where we wanted to go! Apparently they are hosting some south by southwest film or music festival or something and they have the whole damn city rented!

We did Fredericksburg two years ago and were looking for something a little different.

Anyone know of a spa/resort within about two hours of Temple they would recommend???

The Marriott at Horseshoe Bay in only an hour and a half away.

You could always try the Gaylord Texan too

i think its called lost pines, but i'm pretty sure it is a marriot in bastrop. it is similar to the san antonio resort and marble falls resort, but newer.

So we settled on the Lazy T B & B in Fredericksburg....fantastic! I highly recommend it. Great accommodations and food.
