I thought they were ahead of schedule by a couple of weeks? It is scheduled to re-open in July 2011.

Yeah, July assuming the grass is there. Saw the sketch for the new layout. It will be a par 70 with both the 1st and 10th near the clubhouse. Will be longer with real par 4s and 5s. Nothing fancy, but I think it will be a nice muni course.

Nice, but if you only managed to play golf once in the year 2010 because of jobs and small children and such, can you still consider golf a hobby?

I mean I played a bunch of Tiger Woods on PS3 though.

The layout was fine before! The greens just sucked bad and 9 didn't go back to the club house. If they would just grow some rough and build all new greens that course would be tons of fun. Its not that hard, but fun to play. I just hated playing on those greens.

Well, that's the point of the renovation - to fix the greens and re-route to get 10 closer to the clubhouse. Some holes will stay the same, but some will be changed, eliminated, extended, etc. It will be nice.

Yeah, the new layout will make it a much harder course, with the exception of about 3 par 4's and one of the new par 5's. And with all new greens, the hope is that it will be a much better experience.

They are sprigging the greens today. I've been shocked to see that they've been on schedule with everything so far.

According to the drawings, the back tees on a few holes are going to be absolutely brutal, but I doubt they use them very often other than for tournaments. Can't wait though. Since I drive by it every day and use their range 4-5 times a week, it's killing me having to wait.

By the way, are you guys all in Temple? We'll have to play sometime if so.

Love their range, except I wish they had distance markers. The grass is usually pretty good in the hitting area, and tough to beat $5 bucket.
