Garretts is already open (old Green Room). It's pretty good. I'd recommend it.

either Cheeves or do yourself a favor and drive to Austin for better options at either: La Fonda San Miguel, Eddie V's or Roaring Fork.

No, Green Room Grille closed a few months ago. Billy opened Garrett's.

Well, went ahead and got reservations for The Range. They have a chef trained from the CIA. Should be interesting...the hostess was very nice when I called.

Austin's did get rather weird. We still go there fairly often and hang out outside, but it's noticeably sketchier.

The Range - absolutely great dishes. I had a honey glazed smoked pork loin. Mrs. had a tuna filet. Great tasting, fresh, and perfectly cooked. They even have fresh herbs out front that I found on my dish. You cannot ask for better preparation of food.

Service was good as you can expect for the price. Atmosphere is average for that as well. The kitchen is visible from most places, so if you are into watching CIA chefs at work, you can do so...
