Birddog- I was at the game! We should have put way more points on them. Glad we shut them down in the 2nd half. Our defense looked like this in the scrimmage and I thought it would be a "bend and don't break" type of defense. They stepped up at the right times. I think the Cats should win out and make the playoffs.

All just goes to show how bad the coaching was with Monson. With the graduation of all the division I players from the last couple of years such as Seastrunk and Reese yet the quality of play is still so much better just proves that point even greater.

One of the main, if not the main, issue was not keeping the kids in the program, especially after their freshman year. As I've said before, the freshman and sophomore classes are talented and hey maybe Temple can get lucky and drop down to 4A, either way, Mike has made them competitive. He'll make the job respectable again and then he'll move on. I have a hard time seeing he will retire here.

You think? Going from Abilene to an almost 4A Temple as a stepping stone? Doesn't sound likely to me, but I guess anything's possible....

He's said multiple times that he likes to build up programs, re-establish in this case, and then move on.

Maybe, but I've not heard anything REMOTELY like this from him (not that I would, necessarily).

I'm impressed with the DISCIPLINE he and his staff have instilled in these kids. It's amazing the difference this staff has made.

Mike came to Temple to win a state title. I think he may hang around for awhile.

As a Temple tax payer and Belton fan.... i'm glad to hear the successes for Temple. I want Belton and Temple at the top of the district in everything and it's good to see such a turnaround for the wildcats.

I don't think either will be knocking off Cove for a while, but it would be good to see both schools taking the 2 and 3 spots from the BCS and Killeen schools.

I think Coach Spradlin will be sticking around for awhile. Isn't he from Central Texas? Temple has played close with every team this year. I did not expect to have this type of success in his first year. We need a coach to stay here for several years, and establish a winning program again. Temple should do everything they can to keep him.

C-jags, Temple had the chance to knock off Cove this year, so I think it will happen sooner than later.

As a Cove guy, I expect Temple to give us a good run next year. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they beat us with their returning stars.
