What is up with all the accidents on I35? It seems that at least every other day, the Waco paper has a story about some really bad accident on the Interstate, particularly near baylor. What is particularly dangerous about that stretch of road?
As just a visitor, I can tell you I get nervous every time I come back from the service center. The entire way the loop exits to 35 gives short times to react and puts the 35 traffic right in the blind spot of all four types of vehicles I have been in. Two cars, small truck and school SUV>
3rd, you are absolutely correct and with the construction it is a nightmare.
Next time, try exiting 35 at FM 1695...that is the south end of Hewitt and actually Hewitt Drive...as soon as you cross the interstate and service road, turn right...you will be on Old Temple Rd...you will cross Spring Valley Rd and then continue on to cross Sun Valley Rd.
At that point it becomes Bagby Avenue and will take you directly to the back entrance to the Service Center....completely bypassing the I-35 mess!
