So I just bought a digital, UHF and VHF antenna for my brand new Sony digital flat screen LCD TV because I heard that the Texas Tech @ A&M basketball game was on KWTX-TV or CW Texas channel 10.2 over the air and I missed it. I have Dish Network and cannot get this channel from them, hence the antenna. In case there are more Aggie games on this channel in the future I want to be ready.

The trouble is that I cannot get 10.2 to tune in. I have run the auto channel setup and I have tried to manually punch it in and tune to it and get nothing. I got about 12 other digital and analog stations to come in but 10.2 will not for some reason.

Has anyone else living in Killeen experienced this problem? Is the channel down or something? It is midnight here in Killeen. Do they stop broadcasting this late at night or something?

Nope. Can't say I have. My last antenna went out the door and into the garage sale years ago.

I wonder if the signal is not strong enough to get to killeen?

Before digital, I had rabbit ears for my classroom television (bought to follow the nine eleven events) and they only brought in 6 and 10. Kcen, Kwtx, the main one,not the secondary channel. These both had tons of snow.

I have cable at home and have had cable television where ever I lived since 1971.

This is another huge problem with the Big 12 TV deals, but I digress....

One option is that if you have the sports pack (whatever its Dish Network equivalent is), the Big 12 package is played on the Altitude Network and the YES Network (sports channels). So you can see it there if you have those channels.

Can you mount the antenna in the attic? I enjoyed the game with mine, but I'm in Temple.

I think it must be the distance. Killeen must just be out of range for the 10.2 station. Is this broadcast out of Waco? If so, what is the range for over the air digital signal?

Yes, I remember the altitude channel from last season, but I do not think that channel was showing the Texas Tech @ A&M game for some reason. I even called Dish Network and they said the only way I could get the channel from them was to order the ESPN Full Court package for $82.

Josh, I think there were two games on the Big 12 Network at the same time this weekend, which doesn't happen often. Altitude must've shown the other one.

Just the fact that you've got to mount an antenna in your attic, climb on your roof, or go to an antique shop to buy tv gear just to watch a basketball game tells you all you need to know about the Big 12 and it's TV contract.

Fall can't get here fast enough.

The fact that I don't need cable at all to watch some basketball games is why I like the contract.
FWIW, I believe the broadcasts come from antennas near Troy.
