Who is your current provider and what rate are you paying? Ever shop around much to see what is available?

I had a friend mention in passing one night how much she was paying per KW. After I did some research, I found Reliant was charging about 40% LESS than TXU. It took me 10 minutes on the phone to switch. It will save me about 4K next year.

My niece just started selling for some company. She sai it was .08/kw. I'm going to check our next bill to see what we're paying. We've been with Reliant for a couple years now. Been happy.

Don't just look at the advertised rate. Look at the rate you actually payed which is the advertised plus fees. If you are shopping rates look at the Facts sheet to see what will be tagged on to the advertised rate.

If anyone is interested I work with a company (side job) that can do anywhere from 7.9 to 13 after fees depending on the contract term you pick. Send me a PM or shoot me an email (in my profile) and I will be happy to provide info and answer any questions.

Go to http://www.powertochoose.org/

It will give you the lowest rates based on company, contract time, fees, etc.

I just renewed and was able to get 6.5 kwh with a $5/month fee on a 6 month contract.

It took me about 45 minutes on the phone, but it is well worth it. Most of the time the sales guy on the phone will haggle with you and tell you that you're crazy for asking for those prices. Stick to your guns and ask for the lowest available rate that you can find on Powertochoose.org.

Don't forget to insist on a fixed rate.

Good luck!
