Place we had fell through at the last minute. Basically had a party going to The Range for a nice dinner. We get back from Astan and see the room is not one room...it is three rooms joined.

Dead Fish Grill only has a patio that I'm checking out today.

Any other ideas for a dinner..sit down, nice, not part of the restaurant...we can have presentations and not be speaking over a crowd or music?

I am very unfamiliar with the Fort Hood surrounding area.

How many people? How nice does it have to be?

And there's Johnny's in Salado. Aggie owned. Went to a function similar to yours there and it was nice.

I think there's a place in belton on Old Waco Road that does events. Over by Summerfun, near where the Leon R. crosses. Can't remember the name...

Honestly, if it's 50 or less, sounds like ya better give Johnny in Salado a call. Don't know what kind of time crunch you're in....

Thanks a lot. You've been a lot of help over the last year or so. Even though for that time, I've only physically been here a month or so.

Looking about 50 and nice enough...just not flip flops kind of place.

Drop by johnnys on your way to dead fish. Also Inn on the Creek. Should be able to stop by those places on your way. See if either will meet your needs. Cheeves in temple is of course very nice, and very good, but it can get pricey. But give them a call and see if they can work something out for a large group.

I've only been to Johnny's once, and it was an event for a military guy. It's not TOOOO casual, good food (steaks, chicken), an beer and wine. It's not dumpy at all. It's not just an old BBQ joint. But, not so stuffy you can't have a good time.

I'm going to have to check it out...I'm sure these events are going to be taking place throughout the next year. Rather be familiar with the location...plus I love BBQ.

The place on Old Waco in Belton is Cathedral Oaks event center. Never been there.

The Hilton garden inn across from Scott & white is another idea. Good food and plenty of room. We had my class reunion there last year. They have the food, tables, chairs and bar.
