Anyone see that article in the Trib Sunday? I will have to point out that I stopped subscribing to the Trib but my dad was talking about it so I read it at his house. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I assume that's part of what the Walter Umphrey bridge is for - people will park on campus across the river and walk to the stadium. But yeah, there will probably be a minor shortage unless and until a garage is built.

I tried to pull up the article, but it requires a subscription. No thanks...

Basically, they said they'd have enough spaces within a 30 minute walk and with shuttles being used. Sounds like it's going to be a CF. My dad said reading that article was better than reading the comic strips.

this is a serious post so don't laugh! I have an older friend who maintains the Tribulation subscription for the sole purpose of indoor doggie duty. the dog poos or pees and she throws away several layers...she never, ever reads it as she "reads several REAL NEWS papers online now"

the automated trash bin collector is thankful he isn't lifting and dumping her old cans any longer too!

Looks like you will need to open up the feed lots for a good price for parking. (Boots provided)

BU to provide 2,500 parking spaces for the new 45,000 seat stadium.

My opinions in ()’s.

Among the highlights:
* The study assumes that 40,000 will attend a typical game. Assuming three riders per car, they would need more than 13,000 parking spaces. (-20,000)
* The 2,500 on-site spaces could accommodate about 7,500 people, or less than 19 percent of the total. (Or 40% of total attendance)
* Within a 25-minute walk of the stadium are 11,000 parking spaces in 54 lots and garages at Baylor. Within the same distance are about 1,000 parking spaces in downtown Waco. (A little over estimate here, students aren’t walking in heat cold or rain, nor are other fans)
* Seventy-five percent of game attendees, or 30,400 people, would park within that walkable zone, though many might choose to take a shuttle. (2200 Used the shuttle in the last five years)
* Of that number, 7,000 would be students, 80 percent of whom would walk from their dorms or a campus parking lot. (See above)(And that would be Half of the student body,, Uh no)
* Another 10 percent, or 4,000 patrons, would take shuttles from more remote locations or arrive on university buses.(Yeah RIGHT!!!)
So I guess they are estimating going back to 20,000 per game.
This is kinda like the Perryman Report that says the Aggies leaving the big 12 will cost Waco tens of millions of dollars and the new stadium will employ 70,000 people!!

Answer. How many boat stalls on the Brazos?
I think none.
How many are going to launch their boat to go to a game?
They don't even drive to the games. Even if they did take a boat, you can only have a few on board per the law!!
Answer #2 not many
This ain't Washington.

The boat parking will be a joke. The only reasonable place to launch a park is in Cameron Park.

You mean you don't think some of those watermelon farmers from Gholson will launch their johnboat and paddle down the river to attend a Baylor game?

I think you can launch at bu marina. Fun times for about a dozen fans. And tv time if it's on tv.

BU marina would be a bad choice for trying to launch from on a game day.
