do you want daycare or preschool? for daycare, i would choose FBC Belton or First Christian Temple (the only ones I know of that have two adults in every room). Peanut Gallery and Immanuel Baptist may too--not sure.

For preschool, I like Christ Church and St Francis Episcopal, but your little one couldn't go.

Or if you want your kids to play in a REALLY GOOD Sports program, Cameron is only 30 minute drive.

Assuming Cameron will still be just as good at sports in 10-15 years as it is today...

Cameron does not disappoint, you can't beat the peace, quiet and family atmosphere.

You can't beat Hometown, Texas...

Cameron has been good in Football for a 102 years.
630 wins. 2nd most in 2A. No.10 in ALL Classifications.

I didn't say they haven't been historically good. They have. They've also had bad years. None of which means they will be good, or bad, when OPs toddler hits high school.

But, yeah, OP should move to Cameron and commute 30-35 miles for a decade and a half because if history is any indication, Cameron has a 60-70% chance of being good in football in 15 years.

D'Antoni's Crossing or the neighhorhoods close by (like within 1/2" mile), or Lake Belton area is where I'd chose if I ever wanted to go back.

I'd send my kids to Belton ISD or Rogers ISD.

I'm partial due to family working there.
But First Texas Realtors is really good.
Grew up Belton HS in LakeWood Ranch. Nice homes, neighbors and Schools. Rib is Temple HS grad, she has no complaints.. Live in China Spring now, and we love it too. Good luck!

like all places Cameron has it's good and bad. Won the Lone Star Cup in 2010 and currently in first place for this year. It's not all about football. You don't win the Lone Star cup with just football. Who knows his kids may not be athletes they may like the Arts - we have that too.

Band - 3rd in state marching band in 2011 and currently have 5 straight years of sweepstakes awards.

One Act Play - Regional qualifier 2012

One of the largest Scholarship foundations in the State. The Callaway Foundation gives out hundreds of thousands of dollars EVERY year to our senior class. The Val & Sal this year will get full rides to BU and TAMU (rotates to different schools each year).

I complain about Cameron but our problems are no different than any other community.

Your Hometown is what YOU make it!

Most of the small school accept transfers if the kids are good kids. I am amazed how many of my students live in Temple and their parents somehow get them to Rogers every day. Some of them have better attendance than the kids who live across the street from the school

F2,

Belton is newer, but I think that property values will only decline as they are over-building things with tract-homes. I'd look at Salado/Academy/Rogers if you want to go the public school route. If you're cool with paying for private school, I'd buy a historic home in the heart of Temple. The latter would be my choice if I were in your shoes, but then again, my opinion carries the value of a spent condom. Just be glad you're not moving to Waco. Hope all things are well for you and Mrs. F2. I ran into your buddy Dabney the other day. He's back in Midland from the East Coast. A pleasant and random surprise.

You might need a map. The tract home business is flourishing in West Temple, not Belton. Granted they pay BISD taxes, but City of Temple gets their property tax dollars. As does Temple College. Those homes affect the Temple appraisal vaules as well as the rising population in BISD. But BISD has responded with new schools in that direction. Many builders build in Belton and with the new elementary school on Wheat road, I expect to see more, but not of the tract home caliber. And Belton is old.
