My sister is having a baby in June, so I'm planning a shower for her in May. I haven't lived in Waco for 13 years now, so I'm out of the loop on party venues. I'm hoping y'all could give some suggestions? I'm open to anything from a private room in a restaurant, or even an empty event space with a caterer. I just want it to be big enough for 40 or so guests, and a really cute/pretty space.

Already on my list is Sironia Cafe. Has anyone here ever attended or hosted an event there? I haven't been there since I was a little girl, but I remember it being a pretty space....

I'm a dude, so take this for what it's worth, but Ninfa's Downtown has a big separate room that's not bad looking.

We had our wedding reception at Nelson's a few years ago. Nice people, good food (they cater), let you bring in all the booze u wanted. Convenient location downtown too..

My wife has been too and hosted several at the Sironia place and always said it was one the best places to have a baby/wedding shower.

Sironia is probably best. Also check out 1424, Olive Branch, and the cafe at Spice. All are girly places that would be nice.

There's a Hooters right on I-35. Might as well get the kiddo started off right.
