Congrats in the house.

Out of curiosity, what are they going to do out in San Angelo when they run out of water in about a year...

i don't know. I actually had a long conversation w/ our realtor that sold our house about it because that place is about to blow up with oil field in surrounding counties. biggest problem is the lake they built towards Eden/Brady (Ivie) isn't even 20 years old and it's almost dry. Twin Buttes and OC Fisher are supposed to be the reservoir lakes and they're pretty darn low to non-existent now I think. Only guess is that they turn towards Nasworthy.

she told me they expect 20-30k new warm bodies in the next five years. no way they can handle that even if they weren't in a water shortage unless something changes soon.

back to the subject of Asian food, i saw we're getting a new Japanese steakhouse/sushi place at cactus jacks.

Heard this afternoon that House of Lee will be reopening at another Site. Story I was told was that they shut down due to issues with the building that the land lots refused to take care of.

Take it with a grain of salt but that's what I was told.

About mama fu's ---

They publically announced they were opening locations in Waco, killeen, temple, B-CS, and others.

I talked to an employee of one today. The Waco one is still not open, they hope to have it open in "a couple of months".

As for the Temple location - she implied there were no plans for one. Or at least she was unaware of plans for one. Said they will concentrate efforts south - San Antonio, etc...

We'll see what happens...

I love chinese and japanese but HATED the only time someone took me to eat Indian food.

It was strange colors like maroon, school bus yellow, and purple and sweet and strange.

I have never been to another Indian place since then.

I even like Panda Express.

But I have never tried most of the places in
Temple. Again as a single woman I feel uncomfortable eating out and sitting alone, so usually only drive thru windows are given a chance.

I have never tried any other Asian food so don't know how I would like Korean or Viet.

We had Korean when we lived in Oregon, and it was pretty good. I will say that except for the standard Kim Chee, it's my least favorite Asian cuisine.

We shop a lot at O Mart on Ft Hood Rd, and make a lot of Asian at home. I'm always amazed at our little area. It really has a mixture of good Asian food, and OMart is pretty impressive for this area. It's not nearly as big as the huge market we had in Portland, OR, but it's impressive. We also experiment and buy things we can't read because it's in Korean...lol. It's an adventure and very hit or miss.

Thank you Killeen/Ft. Hood.

Family and I were in a Korean grocery store in Houston and some filthy rap song was blaring over the store speakers. Every other word was an f-bomb. The Koreans were just walking around shopping as if nothing unusual. Obvious they didn't understand a word of it. Meanwhile we're workin' overtime to keep our hands over our babies' ears as we head for the doors.

We still laugh our asses off about that experience...
