One of my best students, Fabian Vargas, was injured in a car wreck which killed his mother on Monday.

He is in a medically induced coma. His friends and fellow IB students have been up at S&W all day , all week. They had the IB week from hell. In IB, we have a calendar when things are due, but accidentally for these seniors, four major things were due this week. I'm talking one Extended essay, 4,000 words long, one math internal Assessment, one World Lit IA, around 2,000 words, and 4 major tests, including mine.

Praying for him. Just saw his story on Channel 10, thought of you, Jan, and came here to see if there was anything posted about it.

Thank you all for your prayers for Fabian. He has a rough time ahead. When he wakes up, he will be hearing the news for the first time that his mother died in that accident.

Pray, also, for his best friend Sally, who has literally rarely left his side, and for Emily, Jay, Allison, and Rebekah.

They are truly heroic.

Jan, you and your kids are in my prayers.

The notes tribute is awesome. I saw the news story last night as well. Several relatives of his and his mom in Cameron as well. Two of our softball players are nieces of hers if I heard right.
