Temple will almost assuredly drop to 4A (will be called 5A next year)
As for yesterday's game, I wouldn't say Temple was "better". They certainly had their chances to win, and the loss was the result of collosal mistakes by both the staff and players...
But it's high school football, and that happens when you're dealing with kids. I feel bad for them..
Anyway, the keys to the game as I saw it were getting burned on several long passes, failure to convert on a couple of 4th downs, and the speed of the Cedar Hill defense on the edges...they were bigger and stronger and faster and that we stayed close is quite an achievement.
Also, decisions to pooch and onside kick in the first half when Temple was ahead were HIGHLY questionable decisions from the sideline...You have a lead like that, then you play field position football. No reason to pooch that, and it cost temple 7 points. And not running the ball in the final minute .... Ugh
Anyway, good to see then back in the post season, and I hate that it ended that way. Feel bad for the staff and kids.. But they fought hard all year through a lot of adversity, and should be proud.
