Dublin is on Hwy 6, about 90 miles NW of Waco.

Home of the famous Dublin Dr Pepper.

Dublin's kinda in no mans land with Stephenville and Brownwood. I don't think the CenTex board claims them really. or West Texas?

Dublin being in that district is a product of the UIL's moronic practice of dividing the classification for regular season play.

As is Rogers not being in the same district as Cameron and Academy despite being sandwiched in between them, 15 minutes from each, and ALL OF THEM in 3A

Dublin is definitely Central Texas, just kind of out there on the edge

I consider "West Texas" starting west of an Abilene-Ballinger-Junction (inclusive) line

People east of that are West Texas wannabes

Dublin DP is still going, however, they lost their bid to keep selling their cane sugar DP outside of their territory.

i grew up the same way. we had a 2A district that had:

Wall
Eldorado
Grape Creek
Sonora
Ozona
Junction
Reagan County
Mason

every now and then Ozona, Mason, or Reagan County would jump out and back in but as far back as i remember playing sports that was pretty much who we played every year. Eldorado dropped to 1A and broke it up after I graduated and Wall has been in a District with eveyone around West and Central Texas including Merkel, Early, Comfort, San Saba, Coleman, Anthony, Van Horn, Eastland, Cisco, Comfort, Jim Ned, Blanco etc.

Sad to see all those rivalries disappear.

All of Temple's old rivalries are gone (and no, I don't count Waco High...they haven't been "Waco High" in a while)

They are in a district with freaking Elgin, Manor and Hutto! Good grief, even Cameron was larger than those places when I was in high school! Elgin was in our district in HS, but smaller than us.

Oh, well...at least Temple should win.

jan, the way the attendance is shifting in Temple, they'll be much more at home with the northeast Travis County schools.

Don't be surprised when Temple starts to fall well behind them in most sports very quickly. It'll happen.
