This will be an ongoning thread all through the season about scores or just general comments on Central Texas Football. New Classes with the addition of 6A so it will be interesting to see new faces.

To start it off, im from Rogers and my lil brother plays so I will be going to a good amount of those games. Jeff Walker has left, and a new coach came in, brother says that Rogers is going to a Spread Offense. Not really sure how that will play out since they dont really have a qb right now. At least not a gunslinger.

Predict Rogers 6-4 and places second in their district with that schedule.

I respectfully disagree. No way, these kids won't accept losing four games. Two at most while they're adjusting to the new system.

^Then again, under Stillwell we won like 2 games one season. But I agree on these kids now have a fight that I havent seen in a while, but that could of been just Coach Walker. It'll be interesting. I say 8-2, but I hope they go undefeated.

In my opinion it will take some time to adjust to a new coach and a new system. Possible losses are Franklin, Troy, Austin HP, and Marlin.

Franklin has been a buzz saw lately, and Troy, although going through a coaching change as well, was very good last year at all levels and have quite a bit returning. Honestly have no idea on AHP, they could be great, could be awful.

In District, I think they will have a tough time beating Marlin if Rogers is in the spread. Marlin is typically pretty loaded with athletes, and they play them early in district. If out was closer to basketball season I'd give Rogers more of a chance.

I can see 8-2, but more likely is 7-3 or 6-4 as I previously stated.

We slaughtered Marlin last year. They looked more like a terrible JV team than a varsity team. I don't see any way that they could beat us this year with the athletes they had then.

I just think Marlin will win that district

I know he was a coach back in the day.
He is a sales rep with Geoergetown Sporting goods. That the only capacity I know him in ..super nice guy.
Believe he does live in Rogers.

Coach Hefft lives in Cameron. He's just as cantankerous now as he ever was.

Coach Godwin is still gettin' along & Coach Hicks is a grandpa now, Nathan got him a grandson.

Any results from last week's scrimmages? Belton, Temple, Rogers, Academy, Yoe, Rosebud-Lott, others???

In the live part it was Cameron 14-7 over Lorena.

Did the big schools scrimmage last week?

listening to the radio, apparently Robinson is going crazy against Taylor. 28-0 1:50 left in 1st. From what I gathered, they look just about how the AGS did last night, minus the deep bomb broken coverages. Force them to 2-long, then 3-out. Then 2-3 plays later, TD.
