If I had to pick a 3rd, I'd say Shoemaker as of now, but we'll know a lot more Friday after their game with Heights

For the 4th and final spot, as of now I'm picking Heights. The Heights vs. Belton game could be the deciding factor (if Shoemaker beats Heights)

Assuming a loss to Midway, Belton needs to win against BOTH Heights and Ellison to have a chance


On a side note --- what is wrong at Salado?

I still predict Temple runs the table in their district

As far as salado, they went from 2a small, to 2a big, to 3a small.

Are they not in the proper classification as designated by UIL enrollment guidelines?

Also, the shift up in classification from 3a to 4a was not a "jump"

I've moved west, so I haven't seen any games. But is Mart really a 93-6 good or was Itasca bad?

Well Mart is 6-0, and Itasca is 1-5

Mart has out scored its opponents 332-100

Itasca has been out scored 296-59

So to answer your question, probably a little of both

I would add that there are many games where teams could score 100 points if they wanted to

The Italy coach continued to call timeouts and throw the ball even down 63-6 in the 3rd quarter. That makes it tough even for back ups to not score when they constantly have the ball... But Mart is that good. They should win their 6th State Title this year barring an injury to their top 2 guys.

Mart is that much better than a lot of teams. But this score was Itasca's own fault.
At half time when Mart was already up over 50 Itasca wouldn't agree to run the clock. After Mart scored 70+ the press box ran the clock without approval. Also Itasca continued to throw the ball all game. Mart's last two TD's were pick 6's.

The last time Mart put 90 points up was against Bosqueville several years ago. The same reasons then aswell. Bosqueville's coach wouldn't run the clock because he was trying to prove a point to his kids. Something about them skipping practice that week.

I am not sure what Itasca reasons were.
But Mart runs the clock in most of its district games.

yep...I heard the same thing jread did (he's obviously closer to it than I am). Coach Nail, by all accounts, is a hell of a guy, and I doubt he'd run it up like that on purpose.

Bremond and Franklin are real good. Rosebud is horrible..

36-28 Marlin over Dublin in triple ot. We were up 14-0 with 7 min left in game. Had to beat the Dublin refs, too.

As others have said, a little bit of both. Mart only ran like 25 offensive plays in the game, and started their first 5 drives inside the 20 or so.
