Anyone going to this? I saw a blurb on KWTX about it this morning

Where is it??

It was last Saturday and it was PACKED. They held it in downtown Waco

My wife and I went. We got there at opening, were some of the first in line, and we're able to sample several trucks' signatures. However, when we left at 12:30, the ticket line was probably 50 yards long.

Food truck fests sound good in theory, and they are good if you get there early. But those trucks are not equipped to handle huge crowds and the waits are excruciating once the crowds arrive.

We went and took the dog ( 101# Boxer ), got there about 10:30 am. Line wasn't too long for food tickets, and then about 5 minutes later it was very long. The news report said an estimated 15,000 people showed up. Trucks ran out of food. The Chamber of Commerce website previously had estimated crowd size to be 2000-5000.

Beer Tent lines were very long as well. Needless to say with a 2 beer limit, we didn't get back in line.

There were too many dogs. When it got so crowded around the trucks, I left that part because of so many dogs. Rufus just turned 8 years old, and has gotten more aggressive in his older age. He was ready to jump anything that barked at him.

That news report also stated next year, they will need a bigger area.

They need a bigger area and about 4x the number of trucks. I saw hardly any of the local (Killeen/Temple) trucks out there. Most of them were from Dallas

Captain, only place I go without Rufus is to work. He gets to guard the house,... instead of me.

We had a heckuva time in College Station a couple of weekends ago.
