It's that time of year again! We're looking for some great part-time teachers to teach some incredibly bright and hard-working kids at Providence Preparatory School. The candidates should be active servant-leaders in a local church, life-long learners with a knack for making connections across disciplines, and teaching experience. We will have openings in Calculus, Algebra II, and 12th grade science (could be Biology II or Chemistry II depending on the chosen candidate). Latin is possibly available as well.

The classes are very small (less than 10), and meet Tuesday/Thursday/Friday at First Baptist Church in downtown Belton. The students are homeschooled on Monday/Wednesday, and our faculty have virtual office hours for 90 minutes on those days scheduled at their convenience. The pay is comparable to adjunct rates at UMHB and TC.

If you're interested or know someone else who might be, please pass along my email address info@provprep.org. Thanks to all of you for helping me spread the word!

It just occurred to me that I might have created the perception that Providence is not a great place to work since I'm always looking for high school faculty members. That couldn't be further from the truth! We just finished our 4th year and have added new sections every year to accommodate our growth which is why I'm always hiring. Our de facto math department chairs are Dr. Kay Coburn and Kathy Baird, both of whom could vouch for us as a great school work environment.
