Waco Lake is closed this morning and will probably reach a new record high in elevation tomorrow or Sunday. Whitney is in even worse shape. They are beginning to take in a huge amount of water and cannot release water because of downstream flooding on the Brazos. It is already 14 feet above normal before this next surge expected to arrive later today or tonight.

Yep. Crazy

Things are getting interesting at Belton as well

Closing in on 600' and the Leon and Cowhouse are flooded upstream for the 4th time in a handful.of days, and this is the highest level of all of floods

Can't release water from the lake because of ongoing repairs at the dam and downstream flooding

Worth keeping an eye on ...

Yep. All they can do is let the water go over the spillway. I haven't seen that since '91.

Yes. I really don't think that will happen, though. I guess it's possible if it keeps raining

Right now it's at 599. It's up 18 feet since March

Spillway is 631. Still a long way to go, but even with no more rain it wouldn't surprise me to see it get to 605+ by next weekend. Maybe even higher if they keep letting water out of Procter

Just a few weeks ago I was talking about Belton still being 11.5' low. That's not an issue anymore.

Somerville is about to go over their uncontrolled spill way.

Not really. Super Bowls are fun. This is work. Sitting and watching the river gauges. Starting 24 hour shifts at Proctor Lake near Comanche tomorrow.

Temple question. Where does Pepper Creek go with its waters. This is the second time this week it has been roaring full on the way to work. I know it has to empty into one of the rivers below any sort of dam,.

Saw the muddy Brazos pics around the McLane Stadium. Too bad they can't go sailgating in the nations 8th most polluted river.

It crosses under 35 just south of the DPS office, and empties into the Leon kind of behind the Ford dealership

From the Leon to Little River, to the Brazos, to the Gulf of Mexico

Just finished the Sparatcus dash down at BCYC and the level of the Leon was pretty nuts. We had to cross through the river a little west of Yettie Polk and it took my kids out where they couldn't walk trough they just dangled off of me. Pretty nuts.

I wonder who told them that???? Hell, that guy doesn't have a clue as to what he is talking about. It may not even be open for 4th of July. Whitney too. It's 22 feet high and has not caught up with what it is taking in.

Navarro Mills is 2 feet from being "Full". It will take 6 weeks to let that amount of flood water out it.

Who would want to get into the lakes anyways? Way to nasty and dangerous.
