So if anyone remembers or paid attention to 2A baseball back 2005-2007, Rogers had a Pitcher that was on the State Championship team in 2007, Taylor Jungmann. Taylor transferred to Georgetown his Senior Year (2008) and went on to pitch at Texas.

In 2011 he went #12 I believe overall to the Brewers (Milwaukee).

Well yesterday he made his MLB Debut against the Pirates (which they won 4-1) and did pretty damn good, allowing only three hits and one run over seven innings, with one walk and five strikeouts. Also he sat down 13 hitters in row during one stretch.

I played baseball with him from t-ball all the way up to high school and wish him and his family nothing but the best.

Just figured I'd share.

Yea, he was from Rogers. He just transferred to Georgetown his Sr. year. Texas staff advised it. I think it was the GTown coached knew what the Texas coaches liked from a pitching standpoint.

There was a pitcher from I want to say Rogers, or some other small town in the area, that was a hell of a QB in high school QB, but was a better pitcher, that went to A&M, I just can't think of his name. I remember watching him in a playoff game at Waco ISD stadium around 2000 (which doesn't make a whole lot of sense thinking about it now). I think that might be who you're thinking about.

Was a decent college pitcher but didn't pan out after that.

rbf you are thinking about kyle parcus. He was a lefty who pitched for the good guys in the early 2000's. His brother jordan was the quarterback. Both played for rosebud lott.

Rogers to G'town is a difference of 3 classifications. I'm sure that was a primary reason to transfer.

Jordan could have played football for the Ags but chose to be a student instead.

I understand. I'm just saying that I'm sure they made that recommendation to prepare him for better competition.

It was common knowledge at the time he transferred that it was for athletic reasons. How does that get around the UIL rules that say you can't do that?

As long as the parents established residence in Georgetown ISD it makes no difference.

Still a sip.

Taylor played on a select team based in Georgetown/Austin growing up. Had dinner with him a few weeks before his MLB debut. Seems like a good kid.

I umpired a game behind the plate when Taylor was pitching for Rogers! He was throwing every bit of 90+ mph as a sophomore. It looked like he was throwing BB's!

Did yall know BHS graduate wolf Mahler is a track athlete for whorn and went to the NCAA tournament in T&F? I'm sure his Aggie cousin is proud, but why are sip athletes brought up on here?

And George Eads has been in town for 2+ weeks. So there's a Texas tech contribution.

Glad for Toby. The Rumfields are great people. Belton baseball will never be the same without Tidwell, but Cornblum is a great guy, and I know he's going to keep the tradition alive. Younger Tidwell will do a good job at Temple.
