I'm looking to finally set up a will and power of attorney. Can anyone recommend a law firm in the Temple-Belton-Salado area, or is this something simple enough to properly complete online (legalzoom, etc)?

It depends on your wealth, etc. but I highly recommend texaswills.com. Convenience and low-cost of legalzoom, but it's a real lawyer familiar with Texas laws. Good guy, Kendall Cockrell, is the owner.

We did this in October here in Waco...initial visit to outline our desires, emailed the draft, second visit to discuss possible revisions and sign...three copies $1200. Kind of a racket because we/our kids, already knew everything we paid them to put on paper. I suppose legal documents are necessary in a CYA world no one would want to give them free rein unless they KNEW it was okay!

I know you said Temple but here in Waco I used Kristen Mynar . . . she is an Aggie and was a delight to deal with . . . super easy and knew her stuff! I liked her so much that she also updated my parents documents too.

Sam Fulcher took over for NHS&L here in Temple when they closed their doors and kept doing their property, trust and will work for himself.

He's a sip, but a local and a great, honest guy (i feel dirty typing that.)

I had met Dad professionally but in a rushed setting so he didn't remember me at all. He once posted a fishing photo and I thought, oh my goodness!
