Just chased an idiot hunter off my land. He was hunting coyotes with greyhounds. Went through a fence and trespassed on a neighbor as well.

Reported him to the cops, but I was wondering if I could find out his name so I can spread the word to my neighbors.

I reported, they will not tell me the name.

And I was SUPER POed, but his being a jack@$$ does not give me the right to shoot his tires.

It's public information, and usually costs like $5 or so to get from your local DMV.

Hmm, didn't know that. Would be really nice to know the info in case my equipment gets vandalized.

No, but I found he owns a bar in Amarillo. It appears at one time he may have been part owner of a towing company, no confirmation on that.

He told me that he wasn't hurting anything. I asked "how do you know, are you a farmer?" He said he was. Found that to be a lie like everything else he said.

Eric, it was a very old fence, down in several places, including where he crossed, so vandalism would be very hard to prove.

UPDATE: Got a call back from the sheriff's office. I don't think they originally planned to do much about this clown, but it turns out that mine was the second call on him. He had been complained about for doing the same thing, three days earlier. And apparently he was also involved in an incident 2-3 years ago where he was hunting on land where he had permission. That wasn't the problem. "Rounds whizzing over the heads" of folks nearby was the problem.

No surprise that an idiot/jerk is always an idiot/jerk.
