Isn't this engine also used in the Lexus LS?

Believe so, or some version of it

Yup. They've had this in several applications. But Lexus sells less than 10K LS per year. Sales are dwindling as SUVs grow in popularity and it seems like the LS is languishing and ignored. The 01-06 seems to be the peak as far as quality and durability. The LS460 is my favorite but it's terrible as far as durability and quality. The Next Gen went to the turbo 6, and I think it alienates a lot of traditional luxury Q ship buyers that are lol for 8 cylinder power.
Which is interesting. I can't even remember the last time I saw an LS and that car used to be one of the luxury cars to own.

This is why I'm holding on tonight to my 65K mile LS430
Smart to wait until Monday. Not too many shoppers on a Sunday evening.

Not possible. This board told us Toyota trucks were Arnold Schwarzenegger/F150 Hybrids
It's like a degree from A&M. The older ones meant a lot. Today not so much.

T&P's for Tundra owners with their engine(s) replaced by the recalls. Especially the first batch who got just the short block replaced and even the later ones who got the long block replaced.

This has been my concern since the beginning. If truly debris, then everything that is in contact with oil is trashed. Instead of replacing all of that, your local parts changer just slappled it back together. That metal debris from the failed main is flowing through the cams, turbos, and oil coolers.
It is not left behind machining debris, it is a design flaw.

IMO this was just a bandaid to get it out of warranty.
Unfortunately for Toyota, and I guess the owners, some of these replacement engines can't even do that.

Sure wish they'd ditch the turbos and get back to their reliable V6 and V8s.

I still like my 4.0 Tacoma. Plain old V6 but it keeps going and going.

I mean with all the millions they've spent on recalls just bring back the reliable engines.

Bring back the 5.7L and the TRD superchargers!

Maybe throw some direct injection on it and a ZF 8 speed to improve efficiency and performance.
