title says most of it. But he is trying to reshore ownership of Chrysler and Dodge and Plymouth. Stellantis has been working at killing them off for several years now. Will be interesting to keep an eye on

Need to do something to massively scale back CAFE standards or it won't mean much. They'll still be stuck selling cars with powertrains that no one wants.

Would he get Ram or Jeep or would stalantis keep those?

The Barracuda is a good name plate. Bring it back with the V8 missing from the new Charger.

Road Runner, Fury, GTX, Duster...

Plymouth was at its peak when MOPAR was at its peak 1958-1974 or so.

I always loved Prowlers. Slow, but gorgeous.

Always thought a Prowler with hopped up motor would have been awesome.

Yes! And bring back the AMC 4.0 inline 6 into a real (TJ) style Wrangler.

Dodge I can understand, they have some good nameplates - but Chrysler sells one product now. It's a solid minivan but could be rebranded a Dodge Caravan and the Chrysler nameplate can die. I don't understand what value it brings Stellantis by keeping Chrysler alive

That is a big part of the point of his attempt. He is hoping to revive some historic models.

I applaud the attempt I'm a huge Mopar fan! They're building some good stuff these days. It's not 2004 anymore.

Hope he gets it done. They have enough models mothballed that could be brought back to help with CAFE standards after revamped.

Well the idea would be to introduce a new slate of vehicles once they buy Chrysler back from the negligent Stellantis. Notice that Ram is not included. Maybe there would be a new wave of Dodge trucks too.

Chrysler products have some of the worst reliability issues of cars currently on the road. If they just produced a Corolla copy they would turn their company around.

Stellantis doesn't know how to make really reliable cars. All of their brands except maybe Ram have shaky reliability reputations. Maybe a new owner could improve that. I wish Chrysler had never gotten in bed with any of the European car makers (even pre-Stellantis).

I would bet there was some kind of protection in place when they spun off Ram that would prevent anyone from producing a Dodge truck

Chrysler could be profitable by just selling the 300. The possibilities are endless. You could have all sorts of different packages. Have a dirty south package with rims and such, have an Atlanta package with rims and such, an East LA package with lowrider and rims and such, an Oklahoma package with a trashbag taped over a busted window, with rims and such and a Louisiana package that comes with a state police tow sticker on the drivers window, with rims and such.

Smart to go ahead and include the trash bag. One less expense you have to worry about later on.
