Anyone used a kit from the auto parts store that actually works?

I used this on a 12-year-old Toyota Highlander a few months ago. It was pretty straight forward and thought it did a good job.

The Turtle Wax kit works really well. Downside to most of these kits is you sand away most of the UV protection. They come with a wipe on coating that "fails" in a few months or a year. You really need to spray the lenses with an automotive clear after polishing or use a film to protect from UV damage

You need to go get these three things:

The Dremel Vera Scrubber (check the clearance @ Home Depot. I found mine there for $29) runs the perfect RPM to polish the plastic without risk of heat damage. After 3-4 passes using Maguire's PastiX, the lenses will be clear. 5-6 passes and it's crystal clear. You can get a bunch of 2" foam and cotton buffing pads on Amazon for $10. I switched out mine every other pass to cut down on possible debris. Once you get it the way you want, spray the UV protectant to keep it looking good for 2-3 years. This not a 15 min quickie….but a true remedy.

Best option is to buy a new headlight assembly.

Take it to Walmart and have them do it for $28.

Take it to Walmart

I've done that on a couple vehicles, and it lasts a few years. It's like $30

Edit: I see Hwy30East beat me to it. Great minds...

My son had Walmart do the headlights on a 2011 F150, and I was shocked at how well they turned out. It made an incredible difference in the way the whole truck looked. Well worth the $28 he paid.

Meg Plastic x, a $8 pack of 10 3" buffing pads that attach on a drill, and about 2 mins. One pad per headlight
