My 13 f150 and wife's 21 expy both have about 90k miles and I am looking at changing the transmission fluid. Both Ecoboost engines, and wife's transmission is the 10 speed. At around 50k miles hers went in to shop for rough shifting. They reprogrammed and did some other stuff but don't believe they changed the fluid. Still has the known 10 speed hard shifting occasionally.
Doing some reading online, there doesn't seem to be a dipstick on these transmissions which makes verifying post change level hard. Additionally, it sounds like about 8 quarts is the standard refill amount from some other sites I have read. Can anyone verify?
What have y'all done to overcome this dip stick issue? Is changing the fluid even necessary in these closed systems? Either way, I'd appreciate some lessons learned and insight. Looking to take advantage of auto zones 20% off deal right now to buy the necessary supplies.
