picked up a suburban and it has the auto stop/start function at traffic lights/stop signs. I presume for fuel efficiency to meet certain standards. what does Texags Automotive board think? seems like it would wear the engine.

Range Technology has a wide product array to help with auto start/stop and DFM for your Suburban. I have one for my 2019 Silverado.
I disable it each time I start my truck. It has become a mindless task so no big deal for me to do it.
105,000 on my Sierra, never turn it off, rarely notice when it shuts off, never had a problem.
I don't know what makes me more angry. The auto shut down or the gas can nozzles that spill everywhere. Is there anything the government can't F up?

It's been in gas powered golf carts forever. It will wear battery, starter, alternators and belts but I don't think it will wear an engine anymore than running like normal.

There used to be a more permanent fix like pulling the tow package fuse. You may look up that option. May have changed.

Gas can nozzles by a landslide. I can bypass the auto start easier than I can get a a good gas cancoolerguy12 said:
