Ordered a set off 5100s for my 2020 FX4 to improve ride quality.

I tow a ~6000 pound camper and am a bit worried about lifting the front up and losing some of the rake. I run a weight distribution hitch and get very little squat currently.

Wondering if anyone has experience with the 5100s and towing? Also, thoughts on tire size if I were just to lift the front 1 inch or so and not the max.

I did max on my 2013 and tow a 20 foot boat and haven't had any issues.

What's the tongue weight of a boat like that

Get some sumo springs and throw them on while you are at it. Cheap and awesome

I put the 5100's on my 2013 F150 to fit 275 65r20 tires. I'm pretty sure a stock F150 SCrew 4x4 had about 2.5" of rake…I'm pretty sure they set the shocks to raise the front by 1.5"…leaving about 1" rake.

I have towed several 6,000+ campers since then with no issues. The truck is gonna squat with that kinda load regardless of whether it has the 2.5" or 1" rake.

Maybe consider a hellwig antisway bar if you are going to be towing that heavy regularly? My experience with bilsteins and f150's is that they are better than stock at everything. So I don't know why towing would be any different.

My experience had a 2013 with 5100's and then upgraded to 6112's. Loved them both.

Don't set the 5100s to max height. Back it down to the second highest setting.

Speaking from experience. I learned this the hard way.

Aren't they gaining height by preloading the spring?

I'm not a big truck mods guy, but with coil springs on dirt bikes and mountain bikes, adding a ton of preload is a great way to make the ride quality crap.
