I didn't keep up with it on the drive and haven't checked the system. Not great I am sure. That is another "downside" - it has a small tank and only gets about 300 miles to a tank. And it takes Premium.

Our 460 is the same. Like it otherwise. It's weird driving my M340 which seems to have a tank that lasts forever in comparison.

460 has a bigger range because of a larger fuel tank though right?

The Lexus GX 460 has a fuel tank capacity of 23.0 gallons.

GX 550 has a 21.1 gallon tank.

Man, didn't realize it was even smaller. Though I imagine the 550 gets a little better mileage.

And only about 17 of those gallons are usable until your display shows 0 mile range. It's very obnoxious

I am driving it today and looked. We are averaging 16.4 mpg with those miles skewed heavily to highway miles.

Wow. Was this an April Fool's joke? I average just slightly better than that in my 460 and I'm mostly city miles.

Nope. My computer shows 14.6 for almost all city driving.

the MPG is one reason I'm reallllyyy trying to steer my wife towards a used 460 when we upgrade her. Not to mention it's a v8 and a proven tank.

Our LX570 supposedly has a 24.6 gallon tank but the range is right at 300 miles and gets around 16 mpg so ~19 usable gallons. At least I don't feel so bad about not refilling until I'm in the single digits.

GX550 has a 21.1 gallon tank and when i fill up with <20 miles of indicated range it only takes 17.x gallons. Really annoying to show 0 miles of range with 3-4 gallons left in the tank.

Someone needs to pull a Kramer and see how far below E you can go

I wouldn't make a habit of driving it past E even though you have a couple of gallons in the tank. It's hard on the fuel pump.

I just picked up a 2011 Xterra, somewhat known for poor gas mileage even when new in 2011, and averaged 16.4 MPG driving it 1300 miles home. Small world!

I love the look of the new GX 550's by the way, would love to own one someday. That mileage is poor though, a bit surprising but the price of what sounds like excellent power.
