Picked up a 24 Super Duty last week.


7.3L XLT Premium FX4. 40/20/40 in the front to fit everyone in a pinch.

So far loving the V8 noises and smoothness, getting used to the super duty ride again. Bilsteins are in the cards for sure. Ford really did a great job with powertrain and transmission tuning on this engine combo. I really wanted the diesel but couldn't justify the cost added for what I do these days.

Took it to Fabian's today for some darkness. Re-installed my dash cam, V1 and added a rear view mirror with homelink.

Amp steps, bedrug, oil separator, and lomax all pending install. Hoping Santa brings me Katzkins.

Also, ridiculous that Ford doesn't offer a wrapped wheel with the XLT premium. Fixed that the day I brought it home.

Did you get a great deal on it? Seems like buyers should have some good leverage this month.

It's been interesting reading the articles the last couple weeks of Ford truck owners being some of the worst upside down based on Ford's quality drop and over pricing since Covid started.

I think people that were desperate and paying 10K over sticker for super duties during the chip crisis re the ones crying now.

The detached garage is 4 car tandem with a Porte cochere . So it can fit 2.5 of them …

BlackVue if you have deep pockets.

Weather finally let up some today, so was able to install the Amp steps, JL oil separator, home link mirror, dash cam, and V1.

Amp annoys me with their positap connectors
Because they never really Make a good connection. I had to fiddle with it because the boards retracted and then wouldn't work. Checking all my work, I found the positap wasn't making connection. Ended up soldering for a solid connection.


Why's it 80F 10 days from Christmas???

Had the same issue with the amp steps. Also had to get a magnifying glass with a light to find the right wire.

Is that homelink mirror an OEM or aftermarket part? Do you do it for the homelink or the auto dimming feature?

It had its own auto dim.

I bought a homelink mirror from Bobs mirrors with the wiring adapter so it was plug and play.

What is the purpose of the oil separator? Is that something specific to the Godzilla motor?

The concept is that It catches the oil vapors before going back into the intake as part of PCV.

Mostly not needed on a MPFI design such as this, but I have been running them on Ecoboost engines because they have DI, and I just don't like the oil vapors going back in and gunking it all up.

Star white withe the bronze accent two tone is probably hands down the best color option available on SD. Iconic Silver and Carbonized Gray Metallic are nice looking too.
