I've pivoted from the Wrangler to the Bronco given the almost unanimous feedback to how much more comfortable the Ford seats are. (I'm an lol-old, so that matters more these days, and I currently drive an F250 so I'm really a Ford guy already).

What should I know about the Bronco... like:

*Soft top vs Hard top
*6 vs 4 cylinder
*Difference in trims
*Back seat room

Will do some very light over-landing, but mainly beach camping. This will probably become more of my daily driver, so prefer the automatic.

Anything else I should look out for or think about?

Thanks, Gig 'em and Merry Christmas!

We got one for my wife right before Thanksgiving and love it. We got the Outer Banks with the bronze Wallaby package. We also got the 4-cylinder which I was a little hesitant about, but seems good so far. I had heard about some issues with the 6-cylinder but they may have those kinks fixed by now.

Nice! How is the interior noise with the hardtop? What about backseat legroom?

Interior noise is definitely there, but hardly at all compared to the soft top. Leg room in the back isn't great, but usually if we go somewhere I drive. Front seats are very comfortable. Back seat wouldn't be bad for an adult for shorter trips. Our boys (9 and 12) say the backseat is more comfortable than her Expedition, but let's wait to see what they say after they hit puberty.

All in all, I enjoy driving it more than her old Expedition.

Hard top is really loud. Never ridden in a soft top and wouldn't really want to because of how loud I'd expect it to be. Back seat leg room I thought was fine, backseat headroom feels tight to me and I'm pretty average height. The back seat seems to sit quite a bit higher than the front seats. Not driven 4 cylinder but 6 cylinder drives great.

I've done some fun things with my 2022 4D Badlands on the beach - I'd look at that trim level - let's you lock the front or rear dif. Trail turn assist is a cool feature in the sand too.

Doors and top extremely easy to take on and off. I've had the hard top and would say road noise has been pretty minimal to me. Nothing like my 97 Wrangler soft top - you had to yell at the passenger if you got above 50mph.

I'll post some pictures when I sober up

Look at the price of a hard top vs soft top after market. Get the hard top option and get a soft top aftermarket if you imagine wanting a hard top at some point in the future.

Get the 6. Do you really want a puny-ass 4-banger tugging that chunk of metal around?

Get the hard top if you expect it to turn into a daily driver. I put 75 miles a day in mine and theres no way I could do the soft top.

Overall the hard top isn't that loud. I'd say it is louder then a typical SUV/truck, but closer to a typical large vehicle then a Jeep if that makes sense. Everyone who has ridden in it comments on how its not as loud as they would ahve thought. I added a little extra insulation under it and helps reduce wind noise a little.

4 cyliner turbo has plenty of get up and go for city driving and light off-road. I've been getting 23 mpg (mostly highway) with a 4-cylinder on premium gas and standard tires.

Upgrade to the high/lux package if you can. The seats are better, bigger screen, power front seats, and backseats have cupholders where as standard doesnt. Overall it looks much better.

I don't disagree, but the 4 banger has 300 hp & 325 lb-ft. of torque and that's the only engine that has the manual transmission available.

She's a beaut, Clark!

Tell us about those side steps if you would be so kind. I have the rockrails on my badlands and have been researching which steps to get. Can't make up my mind between the long side steps or the 4 separate that hook up to the rock rail.

Any reason other than the cost I should not put 40" tires on mine with a 3" lift? I've got a 4-door Wildtrack hard top.

Strongly recommend the hard top. I have a wrangler with the hard top and the bronco is much quieter on the highway. You'll have some road noise but can hold a conversation with your passenger at a normal volume.

Unless you want manual go 6 cylinder IMO. I get around 18.5 mpg on the wildtrak stock 35" tires and it has a decent amount of power.

Trims may have changed since I bought. My very basic understanding:
Wildtrack: Sasquatch package included with upgraded fox suspension, front and rear lockers. Think higher speed offending as its forte though can do pretty much everything well.
Badlands: most of these I saw had Sasquatch package as well. Also have front sway bar disconnect, focus on rock crawling but also a very capable all around off road machine.
Outer banks: probably your best option for daily driving and light off roading.

Some of the models came with marine grade vinyls seats and washout floorboards which could be nice if you go to the beach often and need to wash the sand out.

You should be able to find some good deals on broncos right now. I bought a new 2023 a few months ago for 12.5k off sticker. I still get adds from time to time for new 24s that are 5-8k off.

Will it fit 40" tires with a 3" lift? Not something I've looked into but I'd be surprised if it did.

I have a 2022 4 Dr Outerbanks with the Sasquatch package.
It's has a 2.7 liter eco boost V6 turbo.

Gets good mileage and has a lot of pep.

We love it.
It's a soft top and there is some road noise but personally I don't think it's that bad.

I like it because you can use it as a convertible without removing the roof. Although you can remover the roof and doors if you choose too.

That said, it's barely driven so I'm paying for it to sit in the garage
Therefore we're trying to sell it.

Great condition. Low miles

I bought a 2024 2dr Big Bend with the 2.3 MT a few months ago. The 2.3 has plenty of power, but more importantly, the manual transmission is excellent. It's been a lot of fun this week in and around Las Vegas. Surprisingly comfortable on the highway, too. The hardtop is quieter than I thought it would be.

2.3 MT has been so much fun for my wife.

Don't listen to JamesPShelley, he seems to be living in 1988 or something. The 2.3 does quite well moving a Bronco.

The really base manual model still looks pretty well equipped.
