We'll be trading in our smaller SUV for a Highlander soon. Looking at used 2020s and newer. They all seem to be very similar without many changes from what I can see.

What do I need to look for? Any year models to avoid?

No tips but just wanted to say I got a 2020 LE with 40k miles a year ago and have been very happy. The V6 is surprisingly quick

Only thing I can recall is the engine change from the 3.5 v6 to the 2.4 turbo 4cyl

I think that took effect 2023???

That's about what I'm seeing. I found a 2020 I like and I feel like buying a pre-covid car may be worth the year trade off vs a 2022.

I'm already tired of dealership BS.

Picked up a 2018 Limited with the V6 and about 96K miles just before Christmas. It came with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. Have been very pleased with it so far. Planning to keep 4-5 years or longer and will probably be able to sell for at least half of what we purchased it for.

What smaller SVU? Any interest selling it in here?

It's a 2021 Kia Seltos. We're just looking for something a little bigger. CarMax gave me a great offer on it that these dealerships are basically trying to call bull **** on.

Then take the carmax money and have them deliver what you want in an suv.

That's on the table. We're going to look at one tomorrow morning that looks like a solid deal at a dealership but I have one on the way at CarMax as well.

Just be sure it's not a rental car at Carmax. They have many.

We have a 2022 Highlander Hybrid Platinum AWD with about 60K miles. We love it. No problems, comfortable, and a legit 31mpg average. It's not quick by my standards but it has enough power to do anything you need it to.

We bought it about 15 months ago with 37K miles. Traded in a 2020 Challenger T/A 392, so this was a big upgrade in comfort and fuel economy and a big downgrade in power.

I've noticed that. We haven't been able to find one there that has everything we want just yet, which is why we haven't done everything through them. Seems like we'll find one and then it will either have a ton of owners or be a former rental.

Great choice. With basic maintenance you'll still have it in ten years.

We bought a slightly used Highlander a few years ago. We decided on a 2019 with about 25,000 miles. Wife like the 2019 better than the 2020. The glass in the lift gate can be opened separately from the liftgate. In the 2020's the glass and liftgate are all one piece.
