I believe my valve cover gasket is leaking and one ship said it would probably be around $700. Seems pretty fair but I have nothing to compare it to. Anyone have any experience with this and the cost?

You're sure it's not the vacuum pump leaking? It's on the back side against the firewall.

No I'm not sure, but it appears to be coming from over the turbo further forward than that. I can't see anything from the hood, only from under the truck. Spot on my driveway is relatively small and dripping may have stopped after truck sat for a few days. Drove it yesterday and haven't checked the cardboard this am.

Update I'm fairly certain it is the vacuum pump seal so I bought a new vacuum pump and I'll be swapping it out in the next couple days.

Just for measure, I had the entire cover and gasket replaced for $500. If your brake vacuum pump has started leaking, your valve cover is not far behind. The intense amount of heat coming off the engine and turbo in that location of the truck will warp the valve cover. Just a gasket change isn't a fix. Replace the entire cover.

Good luck on the vacuum pump, I had to do mine blind, but it eventually gets in.

Yea that's what I was reading about the cover, just do it all.

Fighting this stupid front end job and then I'll get to the vacuum pump.

Cover isn't bad. Just mainly getting it off.

Looks like there's a lot of bs to disconnect to get it off. Seems daunting.
