I think the longest I went was about 3.5 years. After I hit 2 I figured I had already come out way ahead so there was no point.

I finally got stopped at like 10:30pm in a residential. No idea where the cop came from or how he possibly saw my sticker at night, in a poorly lit neighborhood. I figure he had to have been just fishing and saw the sticker after he had me pulled over.

Probably had license plate reading cameras that flagged your expired registration. I got pulled over a few years ago during the day, and the only way they could have known was by the LPR camera. They were going the opposite direction and whipped around to pull me over. And my registration was only expired by a couple of weeks.
