What's the best auto show still going? My dad and I have been going to the Houston Auto Show for the last 25+ years almost every year. Planning to go again this year, but it's clearly in decline. Half of the space is boats and RVs now.

Anyone been to the others in Detroit, NYC, Chicago, or LA? Thinking about taking this show on the road in future years. Which is the best option?

Are there any recent experiences to share?

the Houston Auto Show is a dumpster fire now.

Agreed. It used to be pretty decent! We didn't get big reveals but it was at least well represented by automakers. Now there's a ton of no-shows.

Feel like Dallas and State Fair also in decline - significantly.

I used to volunteer at the event the night before the Dallas auto show and could walk the show before it opened. All manufacturers and exotics as well. Now I feel like you are lucky to get most of the mid-tiers.

Detroit and Chicago are my two favorites. Detroit is awesome if you get the chance to go

Last few times I went to the Dallas auto show, it's been a game to identify all the manufacturers that are NOT there. I think the list grows every year.

That's aftermarket stuff, right? I bet that's a pretty cool one! Might have to add that to the to-do list.

Yes it is but they have a lot of cars on display inside and out and all the main manufacturers are there.

Ok, interesting. Maybe we will do a rotating annual trip.

Interesting never heard of CES till now. How is it? I assume it's held at the convention center?

I was mostly joking. EV manufacturers are using the show more and more to debut/show their vehicles. Never been to CES, but always look forward to it for the upcoming TV, projection, and audio tech.

That's what I always thought but this past year they opened it up to the public on the last day.

I've been to LA a few years ago. Very good!

Houston last year was a disappointment, but the kids loved climbing all over the boats.

Last year was really sad at the Houston "Autoboative" show. I'm hoping/expecting it to be a little better this year with the return of the Ram/Jeep/Dodge vehicles, but that remains to be seen.

I mean Ram trucks, a hornet(America's worst selling SUV) electric Charger, and some wranglers and 90K Wagoneers.

Second the SEMA suggestion. Or, go hang around Barrett Jackson or Mecum.
