Options to keep a window up all the way?

Older car and not planning on getting it fixed but the rear window on our Kia is failing to go back up. Daughter is only using it for next month or 2 and then we will likely be selling the car to a junkyard or donating it. I've managed to get it to stay up most of the way with with packing tape for now, but after a few days like that....I can tell it's slowly slid down just enough where a tiny gap has opened.

Just trying to think of an easy way to help keep it up and from sliding down over time. Thinking of wedging something at the base to take the tension off, but not really sure if that's the best option.

Pop the door panel off and cut a 2x4 to size and wedge it under the window

This or one of my friend's had a 2000's era suburban in college that had a back window that kept falling so i took the door panel off & zip tied it in place. Also unplugged the window switch on the door panel so only the driver could control it who obviously knew it wouldn't work.

Pretty sure he sold it that way, I'll have to ask him if it ever came up in conversation when he got rid of it.

Suction cup on the interior zip tied to the grab handle.

Or... just pick up a <$100 window regulator. Getting the door card off is 75% of the battle. If you can operate a celphone you can install a regulator.

OP, just fix it.

Yeah, just google how to get the panel off. It's bit of a pain but DYI doable. You can also put in a couple screws beneath the glass pane to keep it propped up. Did this on my 04 f150 on the rear windows instead of having to hunt down the regulators.

Seriously, you're going to spend more time and effort trying to jerry rig a ghetto solution to keep it up,and you could just replace the regulator.

This.

Had to replace a couple of these when the cables broke. It's not hard. My 15 year old son has done it by himself.

Go to youtube, and search for a video for your model Kia. It'll take you an hour in the garage, and $75 on Amazon.
