I'm looking at a 2017 Nissan Titan. It's a 2WD with the 5.6 liter V8 engine and 7 speed automatic. What should I be concerned about? Any questions to ask the seller? Appreciate any advice in advance.

I've got this very same truck in the same configuration you listed…. It's got a 128,000 miles on it. The only issue I've had is the temperature control knob on the AC controls. Sometimes you have to "cycle" (manually turn knob from cold to hot to cold) to get the temperature setting you want. I have not investigated the issue yet…Mechanically it's been one of the best trucks I've owned…

Yeah you should have no worries..They're pretty rock solid..I had already made my mind up to replace it, when the time came, with another one but Nissan announced they were pulling the plug on the Titan ….also just to add I've ran strictly synthetic oil and changed every 5k…

I had two, both went 200K + trouble free miles, and one of those took a mean wreck from a 2500. That engine is effective, if its been maintained well shouldn't have any issues.

Well you could probably get a great deal on a low mileage, used '23 or '24 Titan at that point.

Two things to check for:

1) potential for cracked exhaust manifolds. Listen for the telltale ticking of an exhaust leak under the hood.

2) potential for rear axle seal leaks. Look at the ends of the axle behind each wheel. There's a vent valve that can get clogged and cause pressure to increase leading to a leak.

Preventing #2 is easy. If/when #1 happens, you can get some nice aftermarket headers that will fix it permanently. Cajun B Pipes I think.

I have a '14 and love it. Don't let these potentialities scare you away if you like the truck.
