Weekend endeavor. Transmission fluid drain and fill and oil change for both Prius and ES350. I've been getting the bottle service at Walmart for oil.

Of course Transmission fluid drain and fill on ES350 is a bit more involved with fluid temperature etc.

So started on Prius. Transmission fluid is easy. Exactly 4qts and the fluid is red transparent clean. Drained the oil and it's also very clean.

Filter housing. Can't take it off. Spent about an hour dicking around trying to unscrew it. Finally had to put impact wrench on the highest setting to barely get it unscrewed. Hell I dont know if the filter was changed the last time. Why the hell is it on so tight???

Had similar problem with my rear differential. All I could tell was they got rtv on the threads. Not sure why it acted like thread lock. My advise is to heat the bolt before you break it off with the impact wrench. They are really small and it won't take much to break them off in there.

Oil filter housing torque should be 18ft-lb and drain is 27ft-lb.

There's no way these bone heads changing my oil are using a torque wrench to properly reinstall the screws.

Im going to try to do my own oil change going forward.

Similar but all of my lug nuts are now wonky from tire rotation shop. Have to go up a MM in size to break them loose. Need to order a new set this week.
