My son bought a '62 Falcon that had a new drive train installed at some point. He is very handy with a wrench but had a question about whether this was a 9" rear end. Thanks in advance for any help.

Is there an ID tag on the pinion side of the diff?

From what I've seen, you'll want to get a shot of the other side to know for sure.

Looks like an 8", unless the "newer" drive train is before 1961. The two dimples in the housing means it is either an 8" (all years) or a 9" manufactured between '57-'61.
