Anyone have any recommendations on a good portable battery jump starter? Would like to stay at around $100 or less if possible.

A little out of your specified price range but I think they have smaller ones that may work for you

Gooloo GP4000. I have two of them, they are great

Under $100 on eBay. I bought mine there for around $70 refurbished and the guy sent me a new one. Guess he was out of refurbs

Anyone worried about lithium battery fires? Most of the recommended models I've found in various places are random no name Chinese brands.

I have had the Noco GB150 for 4 years or so and it is rock solid. It's about 3x what you're looking to spend but their GB40 is on sale on Amazon right now for $99.

I think I'm going to spend a little more and go with a Noco GB 50.

I don't think you'll regret it. For what it's worth, the GB150 is rated for up to 7.0L diesel engines, but it's never had a problem with my 7.3, even on half charge.

$49. I have one of these in each car. Have never let us down and have gotten lots of use, having outlasted two alternators, two car batteries and a riding mower battery.

I have a handful of Noco's. If you can, wait until Amazon Prime day or Black Friday. Many of them go 50% off on Amazon.
