Every f150 I've seen is a bloody disaster that start 10-15k above the Chevy/dodge/toyota. We're a Ford/Toyota family for the most part growing up, I havent even wasted my time at a ford dealership

GM 3.0L diesel FTMFW. put about 37k on mine since Jan 24 and it's been great. Pulled an 8000# camper to and from Big bend and had plenty of power, much better than the gassers I've pulled with before. And if you baby it (or have a tailwind) you can get 25+ mpg. I got as high as 33 mpg driving across the park (but they do have that stupid-ass 45 mph speed limit for the whole park)

F150 has had cylinder deactivation since 2021 and does not utilize lifters like GM

I called a dealership outside my area, they have a '23 bug horn with 7k miles and a hemi im strongly considering. Seems like a better motor, and it's a lot cheaper with realistically no miles. I can get a warranty on it that will cover issues, and thebmotor can actually be worked on.

Oh I've been around a TON of high mileage hemis at a previous job, that's one I do know waaaaaay more about than i ever cared to. I will say, from still being adjacent to the situation, the newest ones lasted a lot longer than the old ones.

I saw probably 5-6 of that first series of chargers with them grind cams flat in a month. I tend to agree with some of thebold MOPAR fanatic racers, the drip tray/brace is the culprit. The gen 2 motors didn't have the lifter/cam issue because they where getting oiled at idle by the crank flinging oil upwards. The new ones stop a lot of that and suddenly they eat cam shafts.

This truck is a bust. With no warranty they want 42k cause of a 5000$ package they want to add on. It's a smaller cab, and the big cab was half the selling point over a chevy... I got 3 kids to haul around and we camp/fish a lot..... all 5 of us in that tacoma looked like "the clampets go shark fishing".

He called me back while typing this...I can get a better payment and the same warranty on a nicer truck buying the new one.

Car shopping sucks... i hate being lied to so much.

Went in to a dealership to look at a 2024 with the pentastar double cab last night. 15000 bait and switch attempt, and they hard pulled my credit after I told them MULTIPLE times they did NOT have permission to do so if it was going to be a hard pull. I believe it was an effort to bully me into buying the truck. Lying, bullying, manipulation... eff them

Ill be buying the 25 crew cab in the dark red tonight. This dealership has been the most honest, and the best price to boot.

I'd get the 100K bumper to bumper. My Ram 1500 went through 5 sun visors, 3 dashboards, 2 driver side mirrors, the sliding rear, replaced much of the body molding, and my front ball joints were going out when I traded it in with 56,000 miles.

Bought a dark red 2025 4x4 lonestar tonight. Will get pics and probably name names tomorrow!

And yeah I was thinking aboutbthe bumper to bumper. Couldn't make the warranty work in this deal. Going to flog thenavainga this summer and get enough to go buy one before the truck turns a year old and will go bumper to bumper.

Ordered me a 2025 2WD Lonestar from Mark Dodge in Lake Charles this week. But I'm going with the Pentastar v6, not the new Hurricane. I just need a bed for hauling crap around. Don't really tow anything. Haven't had a truck since my 2002 Silverados trans died for the 2nd time several years ago.

Loving my 2022 1500 Laramie Hemi. Ordered it through Mark Dodge and a little over 3 years ago and it's been a smooth ride so far, knock on wood, and love the interior. My only complaint... the Harman Kardon stereo!
