Anyone seen the talk about this? Supposedly dealers have an overstock of C8 Corvettes, and there are some real deals to be had with a little shopping and negotiating. Unfortunately, I'm not in the market, but it might be worth looking into. One of the things I saw on social media said some were going below $60k.

Purely anecdotal but, I've been in 4 chevy dealerships from lake charles up to kirbyville over to winnie and down to port arthur in the last week.

All three that where big enough to have a corvette on the lot had more than one. I didn't really ask salesman about them, but all of them at least made a pass at asking if I was interested. Pre-covid( the last time I shopped) they would have maybe one on the lot where people could see it, and the ADM was huge. They didn't even put stickers in these.

Inventory has finally caught up and we are back to "normal" pre-covid conditions where dealers have some inventory and they are cutting modest deals. Several years back the big Chevy dealer near me had a whole row of C7's lined up outside and they were somewhat negotiable on price. How dumb do you think all those guys feel now who paid over $100k for a base C8 a few years back? The MSRP even back then started below $70k and people were paying $20-30k extra to avoid waiting. Then people overpaid for E-rays and Z06's. Now people are going to get fleeced on ZR1's. In 2-3 years they'll introduce the C9 and it will start all over.

Unless you are an automotive Youtuber, I don't know why people line up to pay a premium for the first of a new car model, only to have it be plagued with gremlins. Wait a couple years and get one with some of the bugs worked out and save tens of thousands on the price.

When you have more money than time it doesn't matter. The c8 came out in 2020...Some paid way over sticker and others waited their turn. For those paying over sticker I doubt an extra 20k over five years really made a difference.

For those that leveraged the overpayment into 8 years at 7% then yea...they're dumb.

My dealer even got a z06 and they had told someone I know that they might never get one. At one point they had 2-3 regular models. I also feel like it's a sign of the economy, those are among the first things no one wants.

I'd love to have one but it's really a waste at this point. An c6 or c7 would be just a fun for what I'd do. I'd probably buy a new boat or SxS first.

I don't know id say it's a "not wanting" thing, I'd say it's a "I can't afford this" thing.

I was reading the other day about the Nissan 400Z. You can pick those up for as low as $35K right now.

Part of the reasoning is that it's much more interesting and exciting to own and drive a new model when it first comes out and there aren't any others like it on the road yet.

Remember the first time you saw the new C8 in person, or when you saw a Cybertruck for the first time? That was cool. Now you see one every day.

All of that money….just to drive slowly to Luby's at 4:30pm

How many Zs have you seen on the road?

My neighbor has a yellow base Z. Besides him, I've seen one other one and I live and work in Williamson County (i.e. a well populated semi-affluent area). The base Z is a mediocre car and no one wants them. They can't give them away.

A dealer in Austin recently had a year old NISMO with less than 10k miles for something like $50k. Now that would be a steal.

I priced out a MINT 22 LT3 Stingray convertible with 16k, dude paid $93k which was msrp in 2022
I was not even at $62k
of course he thinks it's worth $72k

And I've seen the TikTok videos about C8 supply and pricing. But I've not seen any real examples of new C8s going for the prices they're talking about.

The lowest I've seen for a good low mileage C8 with no accident history was like $58k. I think it was a 2020 LT1 with like 25-30k miles.

Used good condition LT1s are still generally in the low $60s. I think the biggest change with new car pricing is no more markups with some wiggle room off MSRP. But I've not seen anyone trying to give them away like TikTok wants you to believe.

Was able to get a 2025 LT1 for $9k under msrp a month ago ($3k of that was a rebate for being a Costco member). Said I would buy one until they were under msrp. So with the Costco deal figured it was time.

$3k Costco rebate? Cool.

A bare bones LT1 MSRPs for $70k with destination charge. So a brand new C8 for $61k + TTL is less than some used early models are going for. Pretty good buy.

Where did you pick it up?

P.S. I'm seeing some NISMO Zs for over $15k off MSRP. Saw one advertised in Arlington for $53k (down from a sticker of almost $69k).

It had a few options like the black wheels, red engine cover, performance exhaust, and a couple others so it was $73k and some change MSRP. Got it for $64k with $3k rebate.

Nice. That is some serious bang for the buck performance.
