2020 gmc at4 with 75k miles on it. Changed the battery this past weekend and then started noticing the voltage meter running low this week and then today CEL came on and threw code p0498.

EVAP solenoid valve control circuit low voltage.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

Gas or diesel? I have the diesel. If I am remembering correctly, I had the same code a few months ago. One day I turned my truck on and the CEL light was on. Did some interneting and many of the forums said it was a ghost code caused by moisture/humidity. A few days later I started my truck and the CRL was gone and has not came back. I don't think it is anything to worry about.

I would be more concerned about the voltage meter showing low. Have alternator and battery checked first.
Low battery voltage will cause lots of strange things.

That's what I'm leaning too as well. Bad alternator. Which is surprising considering I just replaced a five year old battery that showed zero signs of trouble until now with a new battery

I'd find a digital load tester and put it on that battery.

Seen new batteries that are bad right off the shelf.

Maybe 2 to 3 out of 100.

Have wasted a lot of time on electrical issues when it was the battery the whole time.

Probably do a load test with the leads disconnected

Does it have a BMS? Was it reset when you changed the battery?

All that.

The last thing you touched. That anamoly surfacing right aftter you replaced the battery? Likely not a random event. My money is on the battery.

How low is "low"?

These things have a variable voltage alternator.

evap systems can be finnicky and glitchy. I'd clear the code and see if it comes back.

If it returns I'd look into the below thread on GM-Trucks. It looks like the fuel pump control module is what sends the voltage to the evap solenoid/system.

The fuel pump control module has been updated many many times from 2020-2023.

The latest part number is 13554821. They are fairly cheap and easy to replace.

This code could be an early signal of a FPCM going out (and stranding you).

I would lean towards the battery. Either a bad battery or maybe just a bad connection. Battery quality has really gone to crap the past few years. I work at a equipment dealership and we regularly replace brand new batteries on equipment that sits for more than a couple months.

Also check your connection. I've had several codes thrown over the years where the battery terminal and connector just aren't making good contact. Sometimes they just need to be cleaned and tightened.

took it to the mechanic down the street this morning and he agrees he doesn't think it's the battery or alternator. Ran multiple checks and it all seemed to be fine. He also reiterated how on the newer vehicles the voltage meter fluctuates. He thinks it's something with the evaporator system. He said I'm okay to drive it but need to get it fixed when I get the time. He cleared the code but after running another error this morning it popped back up again.
