My wife has her heart set on a 1794 Edition Toyota Sequoia. What's the scoop on the Sequoia? What's the best place to buy a Toyota in Texas? She (and I) are ready to be rid of her Expedition (it's a POS).

Bought one new last fall from a dealer in Iowa. The overall stock and prices in TX were much worse than those outside.

Gulf States Toyota has a stranglehold on options, availability, prices

I've always heard to compare prices outside of their sphere of influence on new Toyota vehicles, especially trucks and SUVs

I'd get a used Gen 2. I don't like what they did with the solid rear axle, rear cargo space, and rear seat space in the Gen 3. That hybrid powertrain packs a punch though.

Hope cargo isn't a priority.

It looks like the third row doesn't lay flat like in our Expedition...but do the third row seats come out? We'd rarely need them.

For anyone that has a new sequoia, what are your thoughts?

I have read that mpg aren't as good as advertised and I am curious about the non flat third row shelf system. Is it a pain or am I over worried about it.

How is the ride, etc?

Ride is great, mpgs seem in line with what is advertised, interior styling is great, and it has the best infotainment interface of any vehicle we've had. Cargo space sucks.

Get CPO LX600
Unlimited mileage warranty extended
Seats fold flat in 3 row
All the resale and reliable cache you'd expect

Not the OP here, but buying a used SUV for $100k would be a tough pill to swallow for me.

I believe you can, but I think you would need to get some kind of cover or platform to go over the batteries that are under the seats for it to be flat

I bought a 1794 a couple months ago. I concur with the above. But I put a small lift and slightly bigger tires on mine so the MPG sucks now. Looks great though. The worst part is the really small gas tank. I fill up every couple of days. But other than that I love it. It's a great vehicle.

A 7 year old LX570 is probably running around $50k now. Love our 2011

Toyota designed this thing to be a dealership service writer's dream. Want to exchange the coolant for example? There's three separate coolant systems now. The main and one for each turbo.

And the cargo area is a complete show stopper. The 4Runner literally has more rear cargo room. And no, I don't want a third row.

The new model sequoia 3rd row is not removable. Prior generation was. It also does not fold flat and sits on the floor so that if sitting in it your knees are at eye level.

My 15 and 12 year old boys say they have more room and it's more comfortable sitting in the third row of my '25 Sequoia than it was in the third row of my '22 Yukon XL.
