Autopian is a decent one to follow.

Are they mandated or did manu. put them in to increase 'EPA tested" fuel mileage claims to meet the higher standards?FIDO*98* said:
The worst was my company Suburu Outback. You had to go through a series of menu screens to kill it. On my car and truck my hand goes from start directly to the disable button without even thinking about it. Dumbest thing they ever mandated on a car
I have the auto stop in my car and don't give it a second thought. My stop timer is up near 30 hours. In the big picture it may have saved two tanks of gas.Muddyfeet said:
I might be the only person on this entire site that the auto shutdown doesn't bother. It was on my 22 3.0 GM pickup and I just lived with it until I didn't even notice it. To be fair I only drove the truck for 3 years so I didn't keep it long enough to know if it would cause premature starter wear.
Btw, off topic but during the late 80's early 90's it seemed like my dad was constantly replacing starters on our work trucks. I haven't replaced one on a truck in years. Better quality?

It doesn't bother me either. I have it on my '22 chevy half ton with the 2.7 turbo. I've never understood why some people are so vehemently against it.

I hate it because I want immediate response when I have to turn into traffic on I-45 from a side street. I don't want that extra 1.5 seconds for the car to have to restart and decide to go.

Yes, on a 2025 f150. I ordered the part from Amazon. Really simple to install.

Have a link to the one you ordered? Maybe even the video install guide?
One of the ones I found that's popular online won't work for my 25 since they relocated the button to left of the steering wheel.

Forscan won't do the trick?
I'd love to eliminate the double honk upon exiting and a couple other things too. I just get weary about doing forscan myself for the first time I don't think Forscan will disable auto/start stop on 21+ F150s.1agswitchin4lanes said:tamuags08 said:Justified said:

I think 23 was the last year ford had the stop/ start delete as a line item on the window sticker. I didn't order one but looked at all the window stickers online and made a list of F 150s with the delete to find one local.Jock 07 said:
The one good thing about ordering my wife's expedition at the end of the china virus is that they were still doing the stop/start delete on the 23 expeditions.

Interesting, could have sworn I saw that 13th gen couldn't be disabled in a forscan tutorial. Maybe it was just an old tutorial. I used the Cobb Accessport on my 2019 Raptor when I went Goosetuned.1agswitchin4lanes said:aggieforester05 said:I don't think Forscan will disable auto/start stop on 21+ F150s.1agswitchin4lanes said:tamuags08 said:Justified said:

Oh yeah. It do.
I would agree that it wasn't mandated by the gov't; just that the fuel economy was going up and one way to improve things is to improve the 'idle MPG' (aka, remove the 0 from the equation) and you can do that by stopping the engine.agracer said:Are they mandated or did manu. put them in to increase 'EPA tested" fuel mileage claims to meet the higher standards?FIDO*98* said:

From what I could find, it wasn't mandatory until 2023, but there are still some cars that don't have it.
