So I am hoping and trying to put off the need to buy a new / used vehicle; long story...but a familiar one that everyone goes through.

What would you be looking for if your needs are practical, gas mileage, some technology (I don't want it plain and back to rolling up windows by hand ) versatility...in regards to needing a truck bed to haul things or a decent size 'trunk' of the SUV models...but not towing needs.

I am keeping an eye on some mid size trucks and some mid size SUV's.

I have not needed to enter the car market since 2016...and not looking forward to it again.

I am thinking of buying a Hyundai Santa Cruz, similar vehicle to the Ford Explorer Sport Trac. I used to own and love.

Check out the Rav4 or Honda Passport.

They check all those boxes.

It's a polarizing vehicle. People either love it or hate it

I test drive one and if I didn't have the need to pull a 6000# trailer, I would be a Ridgeline owner.

I love the idea of a Ridgeline, the utility of a light truck paired with Honda reliability, but can't stand the styling after they moved away from the initial design. The original had a unique look and when they finally updated it the new design is just a generic plain looking little truck.

I have a 4Runner Limited, my wife has a Nissan (Kicks), my stepfather has his father's 2000 Expedition (Ford), and my mom has a new Buick Enclave.

Ford Maverick hybrid?

In direct response to this question, I would suggest a Ford Maverick Hybrid. If that is too small, I would suggest Honda Ridgeline.

I would also consider the midsize CUV offerings from Honda (Passport), Toyota (Rav4), Mazda (CX-50), Subaru (Outback)

Ridgeline also has the in-bed trunk which adds some more practicality.

Has anyone met Redstone? This has got to be the longest running bit on TexAgs.

My vote would be Ridgeline for your criteria

With a drain plug, so you could store all your catch on ice, and then just drain it and spray with disinfectant...and good as new.
