I often sit in a lawn chair in my truck bed while my daughter practices or plays soccer. It's convenient for me to have the tailgate flipped down and my other daughters play in the bed or around the truck.

I would've thought a product like a canvas canopy cover would exist. I see the traditional pickup canopy online but those aren't tall enough to sit in a lawn chair under.

I'm imagining a traditional outdoor pop-up canopy that locks in place to provide sun shade to the bed of the truck.

Should I build a prototype and sell it for a million dollars?

You could get something like this and mount it to the front of the bed or the top of the cab, then add a couple of tent poles and gromets to lift it high enough over the bed.

I have a field guy that does that when he is sampling wells, except he built an adapter so he could mount it in the post holes in the corner of the bed rails. He has an umbrella that is tiltable so he can get the shade in or out of the truck wherever he needs it.

He does have a chat box on his website. Did you try that?

But I agree, a price would be nice.

I've seen him selling them in Corpus, they looked good in person. Didn't work for my truck because my folding bed cover goes over the rails. His contact information is on the JobeTops facebook page. I don't remember what the pricing was.
