Who do you use? Are you happy with the service? Have you had any claims etc...

I was thinking about going with our current insurer (State Farm) but the have gotten a little sketchy lately denying claims. I got a quote from Hagerty which seems reasonable.

I second Hagerty.

Our 68 mustang runs about $500 annually.

Third for Hagerty. Have 4 with them now - all stated value policies, with values way higher than the cars are worth, for ~$1k a year. The lack of mileage limits and ability to actually drive the cars made me choose them over Grundy, and they were about half the price of American Classic who USAA partners with.

Easy to work with. US based reps. Got one of my cars covered as a "modern classic" that they typically don't cover. I also had a policy issue last year where I missed a card expiration. They handled it quickly with a back dated policy. Felt similar to how USAA was 25yrs ago compared to my latest experiences with USAA.

No claims experience, but reviews online seem ok.

We use American Modern for our '66 Corvette. They are partnered with the National Corvette Museum.

I use American Collectors with an agreed value policy.

When I priced others they were a lot higher so I've stuck with them for 20+ years now.

What coverage do you guys with Hagerty have. Your quotes seem cheaper that what I am getting. I just purchased a 73 Z28 with a stated value of 45000 and 1000 deductibles.

Pardon my ignorance, but do these quotes include liability coverage?

Liability - BI
$100000 / $300000

Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
$10000

Liability - PD
$100000

Uninsured Motorists PD
$25,000 Each Accident ($250 Deductible)

UM/UIM Combined BI Split Limits
$100000 / $300000

These are the monthly prices for liability limits in my account with ~$80k stated value insured thru them. I have a separate umbrella policy with USAA and don't max out Hagerty liability.

I think in order to post a reply to this thread we need to see the cars being insured!

Hagerty. Their roadside package is not much to add and it's unlimited flat bed tows within 125 miles I think. Used it more than once. For years you could use it on any vehicle you owned whether they insured it or not but that was eliminated a bit back.

I would encourage you to buy AAA for roadside (or some other company not tied to insurance)

Every time you use roadside thru insurance, it goes on your CLUE report (insurance credit report) as a claim. Your normal insurance may use this to raise your rates or Hagerty's underwriter could cut you off if you use it too often. It's just not worth the risk when AAA is $120 a year with the long mileage tows.

~15yrs ago USAA popped me for using roadside too much and raised my rates.

Another satisfied Hagerty customer here.

They were the only people who would insure my Australian 2001 RHD Jeep Grand Cherokee with a foreign VIN.

Every time I've dealt with them, I've gotten connected to a pleasant, US based, native English speaker who handles the issue.

The only hang up (if there was anything to complain about) is that to insure your old collectible car, they require that every driver in your house has an additional car for their daily driver.

It's now 100 miles but (as you mentioned) the real bummer is they no longer cover any vehicle you own. I used it twice on my non-Hagerty cars, including one time they flatbed towed my huge camper van almost from Llano back to Austin. It definitely paid for itself with that one, but I've dropped their coverage since I rarely take either of my Hagerty cars very far.

The current coverage is:
  • Guaranteed flatbed towing with soft nylon straps
  • Lock-outs, jump-starts, fuel delivery
  • Tire change and winch-out service
  • Up to 100 miles of towing included each time you need emergency roadside service
