I know this has been discussed here before, but seeing if anyone has some updated information. I'm looking for a truck bed cover for my GMC 1500. I believe some people were suggesting a Bakflip. I was thinking more along the lines of a rolling cover. What are y'all's thoughts on the advantages for each?

Peragon is kind of a cross between the trifold and a rolling cover. No canister in the way, and you can easily remove the cover if you need the space.

There was another thread on this topic a few months ago. I was thinking the link above was a resurrection of that thread but it looks like it's more recent. I tried searching but the Texags search function is…ahem…lacking. Any help from you guys would be appreciated to help locate that thread.

Here's one I bumped recently.

Don't use the TexAgs search function. Go to google and type in your search phrase then "site:texags.com" or even "site:texags.com/forums/46" to get auto forum results. Now the AI features will even summarize all hits w/ links.

I had a Peragon, and now have a Lomax. My Peragon leaked, and I did not like the fact that the panels fold down. That required pulling everything below forward, or out to open. The Lomax is just as easy to remove, and leaks very little. My 2 cents.

I have the Perigon and agree with the leaking however I have a Ridgeline and the frunk helps. Can you secure the bed with the Lomax. Looking for a nephew.

Which Lomax is the board's favorite, and where to buy?

Luke at truck alterations.

I went with the stance, overall I like it, but don't love the attachment points to the roof of the truck. I like the upright locking mechanism on the MX4 better. I also think the MX4 had a better seamless look.

But the Lomax seems more durable and more watertight. Not that my MX4 had issues with water intrusion.

I have had the Lomax stance on my 2023 F150 for 2 years now and love it. The top has been pretty water tight. The only time water seems to get in is when I go through the carwash that has the dryers at the end. Truck stays outside and not parked in a garage, so I am surprised that it has not faded a little, but it has held up really well.

I just ordered one for my stepdad to put on his 2025 F150 from Luke with truck alterations. Still a good deal if you email him and ask for the price. My brother just bought a Lomax for his 2022 GMC 3/4 ton, as well. Received both of them within 2 days or ordering.

The problem with the Peragon is that you can't load the bed and then close the cover. The 'accordion' pieces drop into the bed. When you try to pull it out, the pieces hit whatever you loaded into the bed and it won't unfold.

So you get to close it all the way, then crawl into the bed to load your cooler, suit cases, etc. at 5AM in WinterPark in February when it's 14-deg outside so the cover is closed when you close the tail gait and start the drive home.

I sold mine b/c of that (it was on the truck when I bought it). Got a soft roll up type and it's fine. I don't leave anything in the bed so that's not a concern. The Lomax folds up but then blocks the rear window if you need to haul something with the bed cover open.

I have an adjustable bed divider that I set where nothing tall enough to block the cover can slide back there. It literally was never an issue.

I have a Retrax and I love it for what it's worth.
